Transforming stories into impact

The Dikan Journalism Fellowship is a transformative paid five-month program designed to empower early to mid-career journalists in Ghana. Combining hands-on reporting projects, rigorous research, mentorship, workshops, publishing opportunities, and peer-to-peer learning, this fellowship allows journalists to step away from their daily routines and immerse themselves fully in the practice of journalism, focusing on impactful and in-depth reporting projects.

Fostering Innovation.

Driving Change

Through financial support, state-of-the-art tools, dedicated workspace, and access to top-tier training and resources, the fellowship equips participants with the skills and confidence needed to excel in Ghana's dynamic journalism landscape. It is more than a program—it’s a platform for journalists to focus on meaningful stories that drive change and inspire action.

Open to both freelance and employed journalists from diverse media backgrounds, this prestigious program selects only ten exceptional fellows from Ghana each year. Fellows will tackle underreported yet critical issues such as gender, environmental challenges, human rights, democracy, elections, transparency, and governance.

Support for Women Fellows

In our commitment to gender equity, the fellowship offers free accommodation in Accra for two women journalists from outside the capital.
